Father's Day Parade and Festival – a tradition that unites generations
For the 12th year, the Father’s Day Parade and Festival has been organized by the “Parents’ Organization for Moms and Dads” to honor fathers, strengthen family ties, and remind us of the important role a father plays in a child’s life.
This year, on Sunday, September 14, one of the most heartfelt events of the year will take place in the heart of Riga – the Father’s Day Parade along Brīvības Street and the festival in Vērmanes Garden. The parade begins at 12:00 at the Freedom Monument, gathering from 11:00.
After the parade, participants can enjoy a day-long celebration with music, creative workshops, sports activities, and large-scale games for the whole family. It is a day to meet, celebrate togetherness, and express gratitude to dads.

Discussions and inspirational stories
Fathers’ Meeting is an annual event in Latvia, organized by the Parents’ Organization for Moms and Dads, dedicated to the role of the father in the family and in raising children. It is a platform where Latvian fathers and experts discuss topics about the role of the father in the home, division of labor in the family, doing housework, as well as fathers’ involvement in child care and education.
The Fathers’ Meeting is organized as a preparation for families for the Father’s Day parade and festival, and is attended by both well-known fathers and various experts — psychiatrists, social workers, athletes, actors, etc.
The discussions focus on the father’s involvement in daily housework, division of responsibilities and duties in the family, as well as the father’s role in the life and upbringing of the child. The event also discusses the role of fathers in building children’s relationships and the importance of the father’s mental and physical strength in the family.
